Consider the Consequences
I thought I'd lost this picture as it wasn't in any of our Japan albums.. This morning I randomly found it on Umi's laptop. :D This was from a curry restaurant near our hotel in Ueno on our 2006 Japan trip. I only made it up to level 5, and according to umipixie that almost killed me...but it would have been a tasty tasty death. :)

<3 <3 umi <3 <3 I was going to post this yesterday because it took forever to make, but didn't want to spoil the surprise in case umipixie was paying attention to lj. :) Frustrating part: apparently Post-it "Flags" are *not* any specific standard size.. Both the flag part and the adhesive part had pretty random dimensions, which made it pretty interesting to accurately make pixel art without a grid. :P I ended up cheating a bit (htf do you make an E with only 3x3 pixels?), but I'm still pretty happy with how it came out. :) | | Saturday, January 19th, 2008 | | 2:09 pm |
Anyone want a free tv? I've been posting this to craigslist with decreasing dollar amounts, but it's time for it to just go away regardless of $$$. Before I offer it up for free on craigslist, I thought I'd offer it up to our friends (or even friends of friends). :)
35" Mitsubishi TV w/ matching Ikea TV stand
This is the TV we used for anime night for many years. It's taking up too much room in the livingroom, so it's time for it to go. Still has a great picture, has inputs for Composite, S-Video, and RF. Amplified speaker outputs. Works 100%, we just never use it since we have the projector. ^_^
As a reminder, the TV is pretty heavy and we live on the third floor of a condomium building with no elevator, so make sure to bring a couple people to move it.

Well, at least I know what to study for next year...
Just got back from the JLPT lv4 test. Man. Rough. I took a sample test yesterday and failed by 3%. I feel a little better about today's test, but I think it'll pretty much be up to how well I guessed on all the stuff I didn't know as to if I passed or not. My two biggest problems were that I know way more kanji meanings than vocabulary words, and I'm really bad with particles. Lv4 only expects you to know 100 kanji, but around 800 vocabulary words. According to Slime Forest I'm at around 600 kanji, and I think I've got maybe a couple hundred vocabulary words. Good news is, if I end up passing and try the next level I should have an easier time since they'll be a lot more kanji heavy. I don't get to find out how I actually did until February. I hate waiting. | | Monday, November 19th, 2007 | | 12:44 am |

Woot. Microsoft came back with a counter to my counter offer today, and I accepted. 1-2 weeks for the background check, and then I start the Monday following. Kinda scared of full time employment, and especially scared of being salaried. I've never had a real job...only numerous contracts, an internship, and a part time job. I think it'll be a good move for me though, as the salary they gave me is pretty close to what my base hourly + ~10-15hrs/wk overtime worked out to be.. So even if I have to work overtime every once and awhile, I'm still ahead of the game. Shopping list: * House (with a yard to drop a hottub in) * WRX Wagon (STI is too much car for me) ToDo before employment: * Clean up the giant hole in the ceiling* List more crap on ebay (livingroom's almost clean!) | | Tuesday, June 7th, 2005 | | 7:14 pm |
